Recap: Dallas vs. Washington

Sports Network | October 07, 2008

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Dirk Nowitzki and Brandon Bass each scored 17 points to guide Dallas to a 108-82 preseason win over Washington, on a night the Wizards worried about the health status of two of their top players.

Forward Antawn Jamison strained his right knee in the first quarter. Jamison was on the defensive side trying to guard Dirk Nowitzki when his knee buckled. Jamison was then helped off the court to the locker room and missed the rest of the game, but an X-ray revealed it was just a strain.

Jamison will likely undergo an MRI exam when the team returns to the nation's capital.

The Wizards are already without guard Gilbert Arenas likely for the next several months because of a knee injury. Also, center Brendan Haywood is slated to have his sprained right wrist examined on Wednesday. Haywood was hurt in training camp last week and sat out Tuesday's game.

Josh Howard added 15 points and Jason Terry scored 11 for the Mavericks, who led by 15 at halftime.

Andray Blatche had 18 points to pace the Wizards. Oleksiy Pecherov added 12 points and Caron Butler scored 11.

BRANDON ROY FOR THE WIN!!!!
The minute crunch is much worse than last year. Go ahead and try to stick that Martell Webster slice back into the lineup. It’s pretty much impossible. Do you want Batum to play more than 14 minutes a game? Me too.

Last year when I posted the first pie chart, most people came to the conclusion that Jack and Jones were the most likely to leave the team. Looking at this new chart I would say Outlaw and Frye have the biggest chance of getting the boot, but maybe not both of them. It also seems pretty clear that we have way too many point guards.
