Recap: Denver vs. Minnesota

Sports Network | October 10, 2008

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - J.R. Smith recorded a game-high 21 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 118-95 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in preseason play.

The Nuggets played without Carmelo Anthony, who sat out their preseason opener because of a bruised left ring finger. But they got 13 points from Kenyon Martin, and a 12-point, 11-rebound effort from Chris Andersen. Dahntay Jones chipped in 11 points off the bench.

Corey Brewer scored 18 points to lead Minnesota, which had not lost either of its first two preseason contests. Blake Ahearn contributed 17 points for the T'Wolves, while Randy Foye had 16. Al Jefferson finished with 10 points and 11 boards.

BRANDON ROY FOR THE WIN!!!!
The minute crunch is much worse than last year. Go ahead and try to stick that Martell Webster slice back into the lineup. It’s pretty much impossible. Do you want Batum to play more than 14 minutes a game? Me too.

Last year when I posted the first pie chart, most people came to the conclusion that Jack and Jones were the most likely to leave the team. Looking at this new chart I would say Outlaw and Frye have the biggest chance of getting the boot, but maybe not both of them. It also seems pretty clear that we have way too many point guards.
